Agile Leader Certification

IPMA® Agile Leader Certification is aimed at agile leaders and professionals. By certifying as an Agile Leader, you get to show your agile leadership skills.

Today there is a great need for competent Agile Leaders. A true Agile Leader can put the agile mindset into practice and inspire others to do so too. The Agile Leader is more of a phenomenon than a role. Are you a true Agile Leader?

International Project Management Association IPMA® has developed an Agile Leader Certification for those leaders and professionals who work with agile assignments. There are four levels of certifications. IPMA’s competence-based approach guarantees that Agile Leader is not just a certificate, but a certification of proven experience and competence.

IPMA’s certification distinguishes itself from other agile certifications because it is independent of the framework and aims to truly bring out those real professional competences of an agile leader.

Agility Should Not Be the Main Focus – You Also Need Leadership

Projects are an effective way to implement changes – even still today. There are many kinds of projects: operational change, product development, marketing, investment, customer delivery etc. projects. Projects are done in all fields and industries and in public sector.

By one definition a project is a unique, one-time set of tasks with a predefined content, schedule and resources. World, however, is constantly changing – and with more rapid speed. Good examples from recent years are globalisation, network developments and digitalisation.

As the world is changing faster and faster, business needs are also changing rapidly which means that traditional project management, which tries to avoid changes, can no-longer answer to the needs of business management. Multiple agile methods are developed as a response to this challenge.

Agility is not born by reading books or taking courses. Moving towards agility and constant development of it demands change in mindset. This change needs to be implemented on every level of the organisation. One must understand that change is not only a risk but a possibility. Experimenting with new will inevitably lead to failures as well. Before-hand you cannot know what will succeed and what will not. Constant insecurity is something one needs to accept. This change of mindset requires coaching and facilitation and – of course – leadership.
